WEnt out for a ride with Keira this afternoon, hitting some of the gravel roads southwest of town.
Saw three deer crossing the road in front of us.
We took the tandem out to the Chappell March Conservation Area
I brought sketchbooks and things to draw and sketch with. We sat and did some doodling.
I was trying to be clever with this picture but I couldn't get it to focus on both... nor could I get the actual area I was trying to sketch on the page in the frome of the photo above it... ah, well... you get the idea.
A pole in a field.
Because it's there.
Pussy Willows!!!
There are a lot of Spruce Cones in our yard - blown out of the tree during some of the windy storms we had this winter.
Got back just as Amanda was finishing up her chat with extended family in Windsor and England.
It was interesting to see the countryside around you and your art work . The photo where it is pole after pole is amazing. They must take some maintenance.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alan! Lines of telephone poles alongside country roads or train tracks are still a common sight around here. It was the subject of many paintings by Robert Newton Hurley - an artist who lived on the Canadian prairies - and in Saskatoon for some time! That, and grain elevators - which are all but gone now... They used to be everywhere when I was younger, but most have been torn down and replaced with giant concrete ones - in larger centres - meaning farmers have to haul their grain much further now to get it to where it can be sold and loaded onto trains.
