Things That Warm My Heart

...and help me believe that all is not lost for humanity...

It's fall.

It's 5°C.

It's pissing down rain all day.

...and the bike rack at the local Safeway is full...

(Okay so "full" amounts to five bikes... and there were scores of cars parked in the lot... but still...)

Impressive, even at five bikes in the bike rack. I typically see no other bikes in the rack at our local grocery store. Maybe one on occasion used by a teen cashier.

BTW, is your family living carless (or only one car)? I'd love to try this. I need my car for my job and occasional family visits out-of-province (our bus system is too not great compared to most countries, and flying pretty costly)...

Yes, we are car free, and have been for most of our adult lives (except for a brief period where we lived on an acreage...).

Some years I don't even bother to renew my drivers license.

It's too bad we don't have better passenger train service in Canada...
